Buckler

The combination of the sword and buckler (hand-cup shield) was extensively used during the Middle Ages. Typically, bucklers are small hand shields that are held by a fist-grip and are quit maneuverable. They can be used to deflect blows or deliver punches. The Buckler can also double as a shield boss.
